In June of 1967 Israel achieved a stunning victory over its Arab neighbors and spun a proud national narrative of manifest destiny. One week later, Amos Oz and Avraham Shapira recorded conversations with returning soldiers that revealed their concerns about the treatment of Arab prisoners, the forced evacuations of Palestinian villages, and the paradox of a people who had once fled oppression but now oppress others to preserve their security. It also reveals their still fervent hope for a lasting peace.

Partially censored at the time, these newly available recordings form the core of this probing film, along with rare footage and an evocative sound design that allow viewers to relive memories of this critical moment in Middle Eastern history.
